Terms of Service

matb.ai
Version v1.0.0 · Effective date: 2026-08-14

The service

matb.ai provides information and tools relating to automotive retail operations, including an AI-powered assistant that answers questions about California SB 766 (the California CARS Act) and, for historical or comparative purposes, the former federal FTC CARS Rule, and (when launched) paid usage credits.

Not legal advice

M@B Consulting is an operations and process consultancy. We are not a law firm, we are not your attorney, and nothing on this site — including Assistant answers — is legal advice. The Assistant is an automated system: its answers are generated by an AI model from source material we maintain, can be incomplete or wrong, and always cite the statute so you can check them. Decisions about legal compliance should be made with your own counsel.

Verification and acceptable use

Use of the Assistant requires verifying a phone number you control. You agree not to submit others’ phone numbers or email addresses, probe or overload the service, or use it to generate messages to third parties. We rate-limit and may refuse service to protect the site and other users.

Credits and payment (when launched)

Credits are consumed per Assistant answer, do not expire, are not transferable, and are subject to the Refund Policy. Prices are shown before purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service, including Assistant answers, is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any answer is complete or current.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, M@B Consulting will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or relating to the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for all claims arising from or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; where a limitation is not permitted, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under California law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law; venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts of Alameda County, California.
